This issue, however, makes it necessary to run one instance of Omnisphere or Kontakt per instrument, which might get pretty cpu intensive. The reason I switched from Live to Bitwig was to have live performance groove pool functionality, which Bitwig solves in a super simple and practical manner. 8 layers per instrument would equal 16 tracks in total, I hope you get the point.ĭoes anyone have any tips on how to solve this? Let me know if my explanation is to complicated and I can post some screenshots of my Live setup. That just won't work when I'm playing live, because I have to be able to record arm and mix on the same track, just to avoid the confusion and impracticality of having two tracks per layer. I've been messing around with the midi receive and audio receive plugins, as well as routing midi and audio directly in the separate tracks, but I seem to always end up with having one track controlling the midi and one track controlling the audio. In Bitwig I don't seem to be able to do this. This is really practical since I'm using an APC 20 to mix and perform. That way I can both mix audio and record arm/play my multi output instrument with one separate track per instrument layer. I can use a different midi channel and output for each track. When I'm using Ableton Live (I apologize the blasphemy) I can use a separate midi track with the "external audio instrument" plugin to route midi into omnisphere, and audio back to the track. So, I'm kind of struggling to figure out how to play and route multi-output omnisphere instruments in a practical manner. I guess a work around in omnisphere might have to be bouncing the midi region to audio, and then saving each patch of midi very carefully, so i dont have to keep opening up different omnispheres. and i can add plug ins seperately to each, and adjust volume individually. but i can go back into the kontakt player and create a different instrument for each one of those auxillaries. which basically makes kontakt auxillary tracks that pull from the kontakt machine. Find that that audio track that the kontakt plug in (and all succeeding tracks are pulling from), and hit the "+" button. In Kontakt, i can then go to my Logic Mixing output. ![]() What i was REALLY hoping for with omnisphere. (without me having to open up another trakc, open up another omnisphere and add stress to my sound engine). Then, i can go to the next track and change the midi channel to 2, and track 2 in logic will capture that midi information. This means the session opens up with an instance of kontakt open on the first track. What i was referring to with my first question: in kontakt i can open up logic and set it to multi-timbral (and lets say set it up to like 8 multi-timbral tracks). I kind of figured that it was it is, i guess I am spoiled from using Kontakt.
